If cellphones are a distraction, wouldn’t things appearing on your windshield be as well? I’m quite skeptical that an AR windshield would be useful in practical driving situations.
For one, the depth to which we view the world becomes skewed. Should we look at the object close on the screen or the destination that is far away? My first impression is that this will become more distracting than useful. It takes our attention away from the road and the cars in front of us. From what I gather, the technology can tell where the eyes are looking and coordinate signals on your windshield appropriately.
