So, I’m quite late putting up this post however, after 3 weeks of waiting since my initial order, I finally received my custom made dress shirt from Blank Label. I’m happy to say that I was thoroughly impressed by it. It is quite accurate to the fabric that was shown on the right hand side of the fabric selection screen. However it wasn’t the same as the main panel on the left where you see your overall shirt design. The fabric was a lot softer than I expected and the stitching was better than most retail stores at a standard shopping mall here in Canada. This just goes to prove my thoughts on how much we are being ripped off at retails stores in North America.
Comparatively, I spent about the same amount as I would have at Mexx or RW&CO for a dress shirt. And this one was custom fit to me! It actually makes my other shirts that I have look bad as they don’t fit as well, nor do they have the same kind of style to it that makes it truly unique.
Overall, Blank Label is providing a great service and I look forward to ordering more shirts from them in the future. At the same time, I hope that they continue to make improvements on their designing application. Let’s be honest, right now (Apr 2011) it’s not the greatest out there and not exactly easy to use, not to mention the colors aren’t accurate to what the real shirt has. Although I can give them some lea-way on that because I understand the difficulty of translating colors across different mediums. Did you know that the color on a screen vs. fabric vs. a piece of paper all have different standards? Matching a color on one medium with the same color on another is actually difficult and time consuming to do. Have you had experiences with ordering custom made shirts or clothing? What was that like? Share them here with us!
